Obverse Design
The obverse contains Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Also included are the inscriptions "Elizabeth II", "Australia" and "1 Dollar".
Reverse Design
Wade Robinson designed the reverse to showcase a team of huskies pulling a sled. The colorful Antarctic sky is seen above the team. To the right, a full-color husky is shown in blacks, grays and whites. Also seen are the inscriptions "Australian Antarctic Territory", "2010", "Husky", and "1 OZ. 99.9 Silver".
