World of Wonders IV
The building history of this unique masterpiece began in the 13th century. After several delays the cathedral was completed in the year 1434 when the dome, which is an architectural masterpiece, was finished. Thereafter, further work, such as painting the dome interior, was accomplished. Even today the dimensions are very impressive. With over 160 m in length, a façade 50 m high and the domes diameter of over 45 m, the cathedral is the landmark of Florence to this day.
