Anna Ioannovna, or Anna of Russia, was the daughter of Ivan V of Russia, as well as the niece of Peter the Great. Anna’s reign is often referred to as “The Age of Biron”, in regards to her German lover Ernest Johann Biron. What separates Anna’s reign from the majority of imperial Russian history is the fact that her courts were almost entirely made up of foreigners and the majority of these were German. Anna founded the Cadet Corps in 1731, one year after coming to the throne. Started by Peter the Great, Anna continued to fund the Academy of Science.

REVERSE
The coin depicts Anna Ioanovna. The character offsets itself from the finely engraved background, due to the applied color. Also, the coin is embellished with 24k gold-plating and two red crystals. The name of the Emperor, as well as the number of the coin, is punched into the edge of the coin.
 
OBVERSE
The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is surrounded by beautiful ornaments, which give the coin a very special touch.
 
PACKAGING
The coin comes inside an elegant and rich wooden box, which is made from parts of real Karelian Birch. It is in a beautiful case, which is doing a great job in staging this remarkable coin. The Certificate of Authenticity (matching the number of the coin) is displayed on the inner packaging.
