New spectacular coin series, Pantheon, issued to honor the goddesses of love from different culture around the world, this one is dedicated to Greek Afrodite. The coin series consists of 7 coins, the centre of each coin composition features a gold plated copy of a world famous goddess.
Each coin was about one of different goddesses: Afrodite, Venus, Hathor, Kuan Yin, Benten, Xochiquetzal and Freyja, with a particular rectangular shape and a top part as convex ellipse arch. The coin’s obverse depicts the Principat d'Andorra emblem and inside view of Pantheon.
Venus
Venus is the Roman goddess whose functions encompassed love, beauty, sex, fertility, prosperity and victory. In Roman mythology, she was the mother of the Roman people through her son, Aeneas, who survived the fall of Troy and fled to Italy. Julius Caesar claimed her as his ancestor. Venus was central to many religious festivals, and was venerated in Roman religion under numerous cult titles.
