Simon the Musician
Apart from the fairy tales which are well-known around the world, the Fairy Tales series also presents national fairy tales with a universal message. The images on the coins are little gems which capture many symbols due to which the fairy tales are no more ordinary narratives but touch upon the world of magic.
Obverse:
The central part of the coin depicts a boy and a girl sitting on the moon and reading fairy tales with stars in the background. Above: the emblem of the Republic of Belarus and a semicircular inscription in Russian: “The Republic of Belarus”. At the bottom, along the rim - the face value of the coin in Belarusian – “twenty roubles”. Above - the year of issue: 2005
Reverse:
At the top of the coin - an ornament with a red inset – the symbol of a song, an octagonal “aurora” – the symbol of a human being, a system of four squares – the concept of justice, all of which encapsulate the message of the literary work. On the right: an image of a boy who lively plays the violin, the title Simon the Musician, and elements of a landscape: images of a field, a castle, and a cottage house in the background. At the bottom - a semicircular inscription in Belarusian: “Simon the Musician”.
