Portraying this year's design from the Australian Lunar Silver Coin Series II, the coin celebrates the dragon, the fifth of the twelve animals associated with the ancient Chinese Lunar Calendar. The dragon on the coin is pad printed in white, one of the nine colours featured on the famous Nine Dragon Wall in China.

Stunning Dragon Reverse Design
The reverse of the coin depicts a white dragon with blue detailing and a representation of a pearl. The colour white is regarded as highly spiritual and most fundamental of all colours.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin's obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2012 year-date.
